CHARLES L. COVINGTON

Charles Lamont Covington, 49, of Canton, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, following an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born on January 9, 1976, in Canton, Ohio, where he lived his entire life. He was the son of Jasper W. Morris and Juanita K. Covington. Charles was a graduate of Timken High School and worked for many years in the metal recycling industry.

Charles had a deep love for his family. Whether you were an aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew, brother, or sister, Charles made you feel valued. Family meant everything to him, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for the people he loved. He also enjoyed long-distance walking, and biking – and by long distance, we meant long, as in walking from one city to another and let’s not get started with the bike, nothing was off limits, not even the highway… And the crazy thing about it was he could keep up with the traffic!

His memories will be cherished by his mother, Juanita Covington; stepmother, Margaret Morris; seven brothers, Albert (Chenel) Covington, Robert (Victoria) Covington, Lewis Covington, Matthew (Sharee) Covington, Jasper (Michelle) Morris, Robert Morris, and Richard Morris; three sisters, Audrey (Troy) Richardson, Jammie Covington, and Dionna Stokes Ellis; along with a host of nieces and nephews, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Jasper W. Morris, his sister, Shirlunda Covington, special father figure, Thomas Carr and his beloved grandmother, Carrie Will Glenn Covington, who instilled in him the value of family.
