CARSON J. BLACKWELL, SR.

Carson J. Blackwell Sr. 65 passed away peacefully on January 29, 2021. He graduated from East High School in 1974. From there he went on to work at Permold for 10 years. He then went on to start working at Lake Erie Construction in Norwalk, OH retiring on December 26, 2015 after 29 years of service. He also was a member of Local Union 894. Carson was a busy body, always willing to lend a helping hand. During his last few years he worked for his daughter at Next to Kin. He held all job titles  including  "CEO". He will truly be missed by all. To know him was to love him. He was preceded in death by his father, Lucian Blackwell Jr.; mother, Mildred (Eddie) Shinholster; brothers, Douglas Conway and Lucian Blackwell lll; paternal grandparents, Lucian and Matilda Blackwell Sr. and maternal grandparents Bob and Celeste Conway. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his loving wife of 51 years, Doreen Blackwell; daughters, Danmetta Blackwell, Lucshunda Blackwell (Mike Townsend) and Carletta (Darius) Haynes; son, Carson Blackwell Jr. (Sharee Weaver); sisters, Linda Blackwell Waller, Dorothy (Morris) Cosey, Celestine (Robert) Carey, and Yvonne (David) Kaiser; brother, Anthony (Karen) Blackwell Sr.; grandchildren, Kevin Brewton ll, Shaymon Griffin, Brelyn and Breanna Brewton, Dynasty Foster, Carlisha, Cartel, Jakel, Carson lll, Carmello, and Carlee Blackwell; great grandchildren, Tristen, Baily and Brelyn Brewton Jr., Colby Johnson, Laquan Davis Jr., and August Ray Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Condolences for the family may be sent to 660 Wyandot Ave. Akron, OH 44305. Procession will form at 321 Mull Ave. Masks will be required to attend services.
