BRANDON COLTER Obituary

Brandon D’James Colter was born April 15th, 1996 to Brenda Colter and David DJ Posey. He was a life long resident of Akron, Ohio. Brandon graduated from Garfield High School and attended Kent State University.

He loved football and was a huge Steelers fan. He loved to cook, swearing he was the next Iron Chef. His greatest love was for music, which came from his mother. This love is what fueled the fire in his creative passion for poetry, which evolved him into what his little brother would affectionately describe as one of the greatest up and coming rap artists. From his word play to him being a perfectionist in his craft.

Brandon is a kid at heart and no matter how old he got he never had a problem with playing with the kids. And this naturally transferred over to his children once he became a father. Brandon is a loving and devoted father who put his children above everything. Building unbreakable bonds with each one. They ARE his world! Now if you know Brandon you know his siblings “The Real Shorties” as he would call them. For them he wasn’t just a big brother, or their protector, he was their HERO!

Brandon is loved unconditionally by his parents. The bond that he has with them is one of a kind. For DJ his son has been his everything since day one. He appreciates every moment that they shared, being a young parent DJ and Brandon grew up together. Their relationship is one of pure love. Brandon is and will forever be his dads “lil fly guy”.

If you were to ask those who love Brandon what he means to them you would hear things like he was light, beautiful inside and out. He was an old soul, the family glue, he was truth, always happy, selfless, lil dude jet magazine fine, the perfect gentleman, attentive, a vibe, funny as hell, loyal, pure hearted, and a thorough ass soldier.

Brandon is our guide that will light our path as we continue to walk through this journey called life.
