BOBBY WATERS Obituary
Bobby (Robert) Waters was born to the late Robert Sr. and Leola Waters on May 15, 1946, in Akron, Ohio and departed this life on April 23, 2022. He was affectionally known as Papa.
From a young age Bobby developed an interest in sports, particularly track where he excelled and got the nickname "Lighting" as a result of his successful track record. After graduating from high school, he went on to attend college for accounting and became a tax preparer. He also worked at Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg, Ohio for 30 years before he retired. After his retirement he fulfilled his dream of becoming a "Snow Bird" when he relocated to Tampa, Florida.
Bobby had a great sense of humor and was a big family man. He had lots of hobbies which included real estate, cooking, shooting pool, teaching, playing chess and spending time with his family. He also loved to travel and would attend track meets in different cities during his free time.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, Bobby is preceded in death by his brother Leonard (Sonny) Waters.
Bobby was loved by many people! He leaves to cherish his memory, Loving wife Diane (Irving) Waters of Akron, Ohio, sister Margaret Waters of Akron, Ohio, children Dion Waters of Akron, Ohio, Anita Barham of Varnville, SC, Detra (John) Thomas of Akron, Ohio and Dejuana Waters of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
He also leaves his brothers-in-law Cody (Shirley), Eddie (Yvonne) and James (Genice), stepchildren, LaRee, William, Jonathan Derrick, Linnell, Joanie, Carmen (Moonie), Lawanda, Derek, Deon, Keisha, Lamarr and Charity. 39 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, 12 great great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
