BERTHA MAE (COLZIE) GRANT

Bertha Mae Grant, 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. 

She was born on February 22, 1934, in Montezuma, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie B. Colzie and Birdia Mae Colzie; sisters Clara Emerson, Evelyn Rumph, Jennie Sanders, and Sarah Colzie; brothers J.C. Colzie, twins Jimmy Lee and Jessie Lee Colzie, and Eddie Colzie. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her son, Reverend Bobby J. Grant.

She is survived by her children, Barbara A. Grant, Jennie L. Smith (Larry), Dr. Fannie L. Brown (Bill), Dr. Jessie L. Grant (Ray), William Eric Grant (Arletta), and adopted son, Juan “Man” Gibson and adopted daughter, Minister Marilyn Coney.  Additionally, she is survived by granddaughters, Shanta R. Grant, Joceyln Grant, Kimiera Jerels Goodman, Erica Grant, Shannon Brown, Mae’Ieshie Dawson, Serenity Grant and Emerald Grant; grandsons, William H. Brown II and Khay Grant; great grandsons, Wesley Brown (Aliza), and Aaden Grant; great granddaughters, Samia Brown, Serenity Dawson, Avery Dawson, and Winter Simone Jerels Goodman; special friends, Pastor Lisa Buford and Mattie Cotton, as well as numerous other relatives, friends, and church family members.
