Archie Washington Lucas, Jr., 85 was born January 12, 1940 in Fulton, Alabama.  He migrated to Akron in 1943.  He left this earth to go to his heavenly home on June 2, 2025.

He married his high-school sweetheart, Barbara Jean Brunson, on December 31, 1959.  He was a graduate of Central High School in 1958 and was known for All-City High Jump and All-City and District in football.

Archie served in the United States Army as Paratrooper from 1958-1965 - US52476218.

Archie Lucas was Co-Founder of Chapel of Grace Christian Center and served as a Deacon and Van Driver.

As Papa, he spoiled DD and JJ and took them to school events, games, practices, and trips on vacations.  He took them to amusement parks and taught them to fish in the turtle-pond.

He was the Junior Church teacher and taught them to plant a tree.  He told them stories and more stories.  He would babysit with the girls and took them to the ice cream parlor.  He loved his grandchildren.  He bought D'Aja a car when she graduated.  The girls helped take care of him in those last few months.
