ANNETTE COOKE Obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Annette Elizabeth (Washington) Cooke, affectionally known as Mama Cooke. She was born on June 15, 1934 and was 87 years old. Surrounded by her family she made her transition Saturday, November 20, 2021 peacefully at her home of 52 years.

Annette was a loving and dedicated wife and mother of six children.  She was born in Holmes, Mississipp to her parents, Frank Washington Sr. and Annie D. McIntyre and was raised in Madisonville Kentucky.  She accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age serving as an usher and Deaconess.  She was a member of Hills Temple FBC, through her devotional love she attended many churches.

She had many professional careers working at O'Neils, Kent State, Ohio Mentor, foster parent and was a small business owner of a daycare.  She will be remembered for her loving, kind and supporting nurturing.  We would describe Mama Cooke as a God fearing, influential, counselor.  She was supporting, wise and nurturing.  She was our Pride, our Joy, our Hope, she was our Everything.

She is Proceeded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clifford (POP) Cooke, her parents, Frank Washington Sr and Annie D. McIntyre, her brothers, James Washington, Frank Washington Jr., daughter Shirley Y. Law, and sister-in-law Betty Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Diane Parker, Carolyn Stone, Hugh Willie Stone, Robert (Dianne) Campbell and Naomi Campbell Worley; sister Brenda White; sisters-in-law Leslie Washington and Juanda Washington; 16 beloved Grandchildren; and a host of Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thanks to the caregivers:  Karmen  Beckett, Toni Kellie, Crossroads Hospice Care, and Circle of Life.  We appreciate how you cared for Mama Cooke.
