Zola B. Brooks, 70, went home to be with the Lord December 1, 2013 at Akron General Medical Center. Born in Shreveport, LA she had lived all her life in Akron.  She had been employed as a Nursing Assistant and was a member of New Millennium Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her mother, Rev. Muriel Jackson, brother, Herman Jackson, sisters Minnie P. Jackson, Berniece Yolland and stepdaughter Pam Brooks.  She is survived by her husband Robert Brooks; children, Cecil Stembridge, Lori and John Brooks all of Akron; stepchildren, Kevin (Loretta) Brooks of Tampa, FL, Darrell (Ceaile)Brooks, Akron, Janet Brooks of Sacramento, CA, Joyce Bell, Akron, Sharon Brooks, San Jose, CA; father Julius (Elizabeth) Jackson and brother Andrew Jackson both of Akron; sister Darlene Speed of Denton,TX; 33 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
