Zelma Kennerly, affectionately known as "Mrs. Fox " to family and friends, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2020. She was born in Cleveland, OH on March 13, 1933.
Zelma worked at Hawthornden State Hospital, but she is best known as the co-owner of the Bottom's Up and Ken's Lounge.
Zelma had a feisty, fun-loving personality and was always about her "business money", making sure everybody was taken care of.
She had a heart of gold and would take the shirt off her back to help someone out She4 loved her family and friends and was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She will be truly and dearly missed by her family and friends,
Zelma is preceded in death by her parents Lela and Eddie Collins, Sr.; brothers, Oscar, Lonzell, Eddie Jr. and Richard Collins and sister, Christine Parr. To forever cherish her beloved memory, she leaves, children and caregivers, Jane Beckett and Kenneth (Kelle) Kennerly; step-daughter, Connie (Jesse) West; step-son, James (Janice) Kennerly; grandchildren, Kevin (Alicia) Kennerly, Keisha Beckett, Karmen Beckett, Darnell Kennerly, Charles (Brenda) Beckett, Lauren Kennerly and Evan Kennerly; 11 great-grandchildren; special niece, Barbra Elbee and special friend, Pearl Clark, and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
