Peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Yvonne was born March 12, 1927, in Kent, Ohio to Holice and Dorothy Chatman. Yvonne graduated from Franklin Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio and also attended Kent State University for several years before marrying Samuel Johnson in 1946 and relocating to Cleveland, Ohio. To this union four beautiful children were born, Sylvia, Samuel Jr., Willard, and Dorothy. Yvonne worked with Stouffer's in Solon, Ohio and later with the United States Post Office where she retired after 35 dedicated years of service. She was a member of Pilgrim Church of Christ where she served faithfully in many capacities. Preceded in death by her parents Holice and Dorothy Chatman, her brothers Harmon and Lee Chatman, and sisters Constance Clinkscales and Linda Stone. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Imogen Drake, son Willard Johnson, and daughter Dorothy Johnson. Yvonne will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Shannon Marsh (Myron), Stanley Banks III (Daphne), and Sonya Banks all of Charlotte, NC; Samuel Johnson III of Cleveland, OH; Willard Jr., Maurice, Matthew, and Milvonna Johnson all of Cleveland, OH; Marki and Omarr Johnson of Cleveland, OH, and Yorel Johnson of Houston, Texas; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many, many, many dear friends.
