Wilson "Bill"
Chesney
June 12, 1948 – September 15, 2021
Wilson "Bill" Chesney passed away on September 15, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 12, 1948 to the late William and Evelyn Hall Chesney.
Bill grew up in Canton, Ohio where he attended McKinley High School, and later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a teenager. Remembering how much he loved Canton as a kid, he moved back in 1989. Everyone knew Bill's love for cars and driving, and one of his favorite jobs was driving a tractor trailer. Although he enjoyed being on the road, he never took long distance jobs to ensure he would be home every night with his family. Having a real need for speed, Bill owned a number of muscle cars, his favorite being the '72 'Cuda. He was often times caught racing through the streets of Philly, Canton, and everywhere in between . One of his best racing memories was on the actual Nascar track in Concord, North Carolina, where he drove himself around the track like a true race car driver.
Bill always had a desire to help others. He was a protector of all and never hesitated to run to anyone's rescue. Because of the trials and tribulations he experienced during his life, Bill had a passion for reaching the youth by offering guidance and sharing the Word. He has touched countless lives and was looked up to by many. He was "the coolest" and will be greatly missed!
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his siblings, Evelyn Grate, Eudora Gardner, Norma Jean Thompson, and Thomas Chesney.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Carol; children, Edward Chesney, Wakeem Chesney, Kenya Chesney Millett (John), Jamal Goldman, Jeremy Chesney, Kristen Chesney Williams (Billy Dee), Will Chesney, and Josh Blackmon; siblings, William "Punkin" Chesney (Alice), Shirley Brown, Lois Chesney, Rosetta Johnson Davis, Stanley Chesney, Cynthia Chesney-Moore, Mary Chesney-Kelly, Renee Tilman; (18) grandchildren, (11) great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives, and friends, all whom he loved dearly.
