Willie (Wimp) Shropshire was born on October 26, 1941, to the union of Governor and Emma Shropshire in Milledgeville, Georgia. Willie was called home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2024.

Willie was an ordained Deacon while under the Ministry of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio. Willie had a strong faith and prayed for his family every night, calling each by name.

Willie is preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Emma Shropshire; sister, Callie King; brothers, Elijah Shropshire, Rev. James Shropshire and Fred L. (Jacqueline) Shropshire; daughter-in-law, Rosalind Hamilton; and aunt, Callie Hitchcock.

Willie leaves to cherish his memory, devoted son, Harold D. Hamilton; grandchildren, Kevin and David Hamilton, and Whitney (Joseph) Humphrey all of Akron, Ohio; nieces, Francetta Shropshire-Robbins and Antionette Beasley of Akron, Ohio; special nephew, Willie King; 13 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
