Our beloved William Lewis Jr., 82, devoted husband of Marlene for 61 years, loving father of 6 children and brother to 10 sisters, completed his journey on October 25, 2018. He was born on February 21, 1936, in Whiteville, NC to Rita and William Lewis before moving to Akron, OH at the age of 17. William was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Flossie and Valerie. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Marlene; sons, William (Melissa) Lewis III, Ronald (Fonda) Lewis, Michael Lewis; daughters, Mary Ellen (George) Mosby, Sheila Lewis and Andrea Thomas, all of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Magdalene, Carolyn (James), Rita Mae, Dorothy, Alice (John), Patricia, Sheila and Tina; 23 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. William was an intelligent, kind, strong, hard-working man who retired from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 25 years of service. He happily opened his home and heart to a host of friends and neighbors and left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path.
