Alexander
October 1, 1939 – December 28, 2022
William Lee Alexander was born in Sheffield, Alabama to the late Maggie Johnson and Aaron Alexander. He was the third of seven children, five of whom preceded him in death as well as two grandmothers and grandfathers.
William graduated from Sterling High School in Sheffield, Alabama and soon after he relocated to Akron, Ohio to be with his father and grandmother. He became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, married Annie Alexander and to this union, three daughters were born.
He was multi-talented where he exhibited skills in decorating and landscaping where he won three Beautification Awards for his work. In addition, he was an excellent cook, he enjoyed fishing, football, basketball, music from the 70's and 80's as well as any songs from Rance Allen.
William worked for Akron City Hospital in the Research Lab for over 20 years and retired from Ford Motor Company. He was very sharp dresser, very meticulous about everything having its own place and doted on his grandchildren, giving each one their own special "Nickname".
After a lengthy illness on December 28, 2022, he answered the summons from God to leave his earthly Life of Labor and enter into his Eternal Heavenly Home.
He leaves to adjust to his absence and rejoice in his memory, loving former wife of 37 years Annie Alexander, daughters, Fredricka Blake of Jonesboro, Georgia, Franchelle (Timothy) Henry and Donna (Kenneth) Smith, all of Akron, Ohio, 11 grandchildren, Timicka, Timothy, Alpha, Myica, Destiny, William, Michelle, David, Marie, Jordan and Anae., 10 great-grandchildren, brother, Bruce Alexander, sisters, Christine and Lillian as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
