("Virgie") Wooley - Williams
August 11, 1951 – December 19, 2025
Our angel Virginia Anise Wooley- Williams gained her eternal wings December 19, surrounded by her loving family. Affectionately called "Virgie" she was born August 11, 1951, to the late William "Buster" Fitch and Callie Fitch-Burns. She was the third eldest of six siblings whom she loved dearly.
Virgie attended Akron Public Schools and worked various jobs including I.B.H. Brotherhood, where her colleagues and residents loved and adored her uplifting spirit. Most recently, Virgie was employed by Ardmore Mental Health Incorporated where she was loved and highly respected. Retiring August 2025 after many years of dedication and service.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents William "Buster" Fitch and Callie Burns- Fitch; brothers, Timothy and Michael Fitch.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving and devoted husband, John "Foots" Williams; sons, James (Kim) Wooley and Jonah Wooley both of Akron, Ohio; daughters, Kimm (Calvin) Blair-Paynther of Akron, Ohio and Karla (Alfonzo) Blair-Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia; stepchildren, DeShawna (Oliver) Campbell, Angela Glass, NaTisha Sommerville-Dent, Yolanda (Alex) Mays, John (Kristina) Williams III, Ciara Smith, and Jasimen Smith; brother, Jerry (Sheila) Fitch of California; sisters, Barbara Fitch-Haly and Diane Fitch-Brooks both of Akron, Ohio; (22) grandchildren and (25) great- grandchildren; lifelong friends, Sandra Boddie and Leslie Douglas, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Virgie has left a void in all of our hearts that we will try to fill with great times, warm memories, and special moments. Her love and infectious personality can never be replaced. Her legacy lives on through all of us. She was truly someone special and we will miss her dearly.
