Vicky Lynne
Jones
January 23, 1947 – October 25, 2016
I was born Vicky Lynn "Pee Wee" Jones on January 23, 1947 in Waynesburg, Ohio, to Elmas Barrino. I am the oldest of twelve children. There was never a dull moment in our upbringing. Years later, we moved to Canton with my grandparents, Jim and Elmas Mack. Along life's journey, I lost my sister, Joanna Mack, at a young age. In my vibrant twenties, I met a wonderful man by the name of John L. Latimore. We have three children: Ann, Tracy, and James. John L. was called home to be with our Heavenly Father when the children were very young. As fate would have it, I met another good man, Aaron Jones, and we were joined in holy matrimony at the Pentecostal Temple Church. We lovingly extended our family in 1998 when we adopted Joy Barrino. Ten years later, my husband, Aaron, also transitioned to glory. Throughout all of life's tragedies, I still trusted God. During my dedicated church membership, I was one of the original Nuckols Singers and we performed together for many years. Even when I lost my sister, Pam Barrino (who was my right-hand partner,) with a heavy heart, I still shouted, "Glory to God!" Do you know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us? (John 3:16.) And with that strength, I continued to shout and dance before the Lord. L.I.F.E. Ministries has been my church home for a while now. I loved to be in the house of the Lord. I was a faithful staff member at Rhoden Memorial Home for over fifteen years. They said that I had a heart of gold because I was always there to serve and comfort others in their times of need. I was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and served on the Neighborhood Crime Watch Committee. Oh, how I loved spending time with my family and friends! In my leisure time, I enjoyed cooking, traveling, family events, and going to gospel concerts. All of these things did my heart good. My journey recently included failed health, numerous surgeries, and various complications resulting from my illness. Surrounded by my loved ones, the sun set upon my life on October 25, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic. The Master declared, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:21.) No more pain, no more suffering. I'm free! My address is now: 123 Gates to the City Avenue, Godstown, Heaven 77777. Live your life for God, and we will meet again. Vicky is preceded in death by her husband Aaron Jones; sisters, Joann Mack and Pamela Barrino; grandparents, Jim and Elmas Mack; aunt, Willie Williams; uncle, James Mack. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her mother Elmas Barrino; children, Ann (Matthew) Watts, Sr., Tracy Cole, James Latimore and Joy Barrino all of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Natasha Latimore, William (Bee) White, Victoria Provitt, Charnae Newell, Jamari Latimore, Zayden Williams all of Canton, Ohio; great-grandchild, Mason White; sisters, Janice White, Jean Ann Barrino, Annette (Charles) Lightner, Delores Barrino, Sharon Barrino, Theresa Freeman and Patricia Barrino; brothers, John (Lanetta) Mack, Robert Mack, Curly Barrino, James (Gina) Barrino, Leon (Stephanie) Barrino and Leroy (Priscilla) Barrino all of Canton, Ohio; special cousins, Carol Mack, Terry (Yvonda) Mack and Vanessa McNeal both of Columbus, Ohio; dear friends, Claudia Daniels, Joan Bell and Hattie Fields of Canton, Ohio, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
