Vanessa Lynn Peterson, affectionately known as Nette, made her Heavenly transition from this earthly home with her family at her side on August 19, 2021 at the age of 53.  Vanessa was born on August 19, 1968 to the late Susie Peterson and J.D. Peterson in Canton, Ohio.

Vanessa was a strong, loving mother, devoted to her only child Deonna as well as a loving grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Without a doubt, Vanessa was know for being the most self-sacrificing, caring, and generous woman who would do anything for anyone… she had a "HEART OF GOLD"  She always exhibited very strong family values, with a vivacious and energetic personality.    She was very passionate about doing cosmetology, arts and crafts, the blues, and most importantly the love of her family. Vanessa was employed by Life Care Family Health & Dental Center and Child & Adolescent Behavior Health.

To know Vanessa was to love her, as we all do!  She is "OUR BLAQ BUTTERFLY"

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Diane Robertson; brother, James Peterson; uncles, S.C. Peterson, Bob Merriweather, John Merriweather; brother-in-law, John Charles Frazier.

Vanessa leaves to cherish her loving memories to her loving and devoted  daughter Deonna (Latasha) Peterson; grandchildren, Alayah, Jaylen, Sariyah; friend & father of Deonna, Robert Taylor of Akron, Ohio; brother, Sam (Keisha) Peterson; sisters, Debra Frazier, Tammy Peterson, Lee Ann Bryant, Patricia (Andrew) Smith, Denise (Oscar) Skinner, Robin (Tom) Peterson-Wolbert, Ruthie (Leon) Campbell all of Canton, Ohio; uncle, Early Merriweather of Massillon, Ohio; aunts, Vera Butler, Mamie (Ted) Denny, Bertha (Glenn) Peterson, Beatrice Peterson all of Detroit, Michigan; loving nephews, Kenny Peterson,  Joey Peterson both of Canton, Ohio, Marcus Peterson of Greenville, South Carolina, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
