Valeria Barbara Fields "Polly"'s Obituary

On June 28, 2025, our heavenly father called home one of his most faithful servants. Valeria "Polly" (Mabry) Fields of Canton, Ohio at the age of 89. Val peacefully passed away after a prolonged illness in which her heart could no longer hold all that fiery spirit.

Valeria often stated that her greatest accomplishment was having four beautiful children—Wesley Alan, Stacey Kyle, George Andre, and Alicia Dawn—even though health issues previously suggested she might not be able to have them each were a miracle and her pride and joy.

In all her humbleness, she would not mention her fight to become an RN registered nurse graduating from Massillon School of Nursing in the 1950's. Or her dedicated career at Children's Hospital in Akron, Ohio, rising to the position of Head nurse of the Children's Child Psychiatric Unit, which she helped develop.

Val was not just an avid traveler; she was a passionate explorer, inspired by her father's adventurous spirit. She journeyed to remarkable destinations alongside her cherished niece, Vicki Stone, uncovering the beauty of Europe, Africa, South America, the Middle East, and Israel. Val's love for travel extended to breathtaking tropical islands, including Jamaica, Hawaii, and the Canary Islands.

Throughout her remarkable journeys, she always carried the word of God in her heart. A woman of profound integrity and unwavering strength, Val was deeply committed to her faith. She served as an intercessor and spiritual advisor for several ministries, including Shiloh Ministries, and Apostle Dr. Kathryn AANNel's IAMHashem ministry.  Her heartfelt prayers resonated with countless individuals, bringing healing, hope, and transformation to many lives. Val's legacy is one of faith in action, inspiring others to embrace their own spiritual journeys.

She leaves behind her beloved sisters, Betty Mabry, and Christine (Mabry) Hudson and her brother Lincoln Mabry. Along with grandchildren: Darnell Taylor, Terry, and Terrance (Willmon) Fields, Andrew Fields, Bert Crawford, Khyler Fields Raven Fields, Rakita, Shian, and Shawntez Garner and a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Val was preceded in death by her loving husband George Andrew Fields and her parents, YC Lincoln Mabry, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Mabry, and her brothers, William Mabry l, and Johnny Mabry.

Val, affectionately known as "Mama" Fields, to most prepared us for this day. So, we will celebrate her well-lived life, filled with some trials and tribulations, but a tapestry woven with laughter, joy, and an infectious smile. And so we will continue….
