Tyrone Rory Johnson, age 72, made his transition on Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.  He was born on January 21, 1948 in Massillon, Ohio to the union of the late Johnnie and Lillian (nee. Joiner) Johnson.

Tyrone was educated in the Massillon City School District, graduating from Washington High School, where he was a member of the football and track teams.  After high school he attended Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, Ohio before enlisting in a different branch of service than his father and brother (United States Navy) but chose the United States Army instead.  Upon being honorably discharged from the Army he returned to Massillon, where he too a job at Union Drawn, a division of  Republic Steel as an electrician.  He also worked for a while as an electrician at Lords Town Car Industry. Tyrone attended Stark State College where he appeared on the school's   Billboard Poster and received upon graduating with his Associates Degree.

Tyrone was a lifetime member of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church where he gave his life to the Lord.  In the beginning of the organization of the Male Chorus he was a former member.  He attended church faithfully until his failing health.  He was an avid sports fan, following the Massillon Tigers Cleveland Browns Cleveland Cavaliers, and any team that members of his family played on.  One of his favorite pastimes was playing bid whist and talking stuff about how he was going to beat you.

In addition to his parents, Tyrone was preceded in death by his (2) sisters, and (2) brother-in-laws,  Joann (Leroy) White, Shirley Crenshaw, and Herman Brown Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory (3) sons, Dewayne A. Shelton of MD., Zachary T. Johnson and Travis Lennon of Canton, Ohio, (3) brothers, Vernon (Gerrie) Johnson of Massillon, Ohio, John Henry (Sharon) Johnson of Canton, Ohio, William Johnson of North Canton, Ohio; (1) sister, Evelyn Brown of Canton, Ohio; (5) grandchildren,  Zion, Zada, Zach, Veda, and Jaron; (2) aunts, Eulette Arrington and Lucille Joiner both of Massillon, Ohio; nephew, Dartez Johnson; cousins like brothers, Roy Lee Johnson and Ronnie Gillom of Colorado and Chester Arrington of Las Vegas, NV., as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tyrone loved his family and his family loved him.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
