Troy Nathaniel Purdie was born to Dewey Oden Sr and Nadyne Purdie-Hopson on October 2, 1967, in Akron, Ohio.  Troy passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the age of 53 years old.  Leaving a void in his community of family and friends.

Troy loved music and considered himself an artist.  From a young age he enjoyed creating and performing rap music.  After music, football was his second love.  Troy was an outstanding football player throughout his youth here and in California.  As an adult Troy took his talents to the Akron PeeWee's South Rangers.

Troy attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from Central Hower class of 1986.  Troy was a jack of all trades and held many jobs.

Troy was preceded in death by his father Dewey Oden Sr, his grandfather Nathaniel Purdie Sr and his sister Shirley Jean Oden. He leaves to cherish his memories; his mother Nadyne Purdie-Hopson and father Allen Hopson Sr, sisters, Tabitha Oden and Allison Thompson-Lewis; brothers, Robert Deck, William Sanders, Dewey Oden and Diamond Purdie; daughters and sons Meka Purdie-Moore, Janae Purdie, Savanna Garner, Troy Anton Purdie and Lorenzo Dwayne Cook; and two grandchildren Mya and Serenity. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Troy will be greatly missed.
