Tonya R. McCraney "T-Mac"

Tonya R. McCraney, affectionately called "T-Mac", earned her heavenly wings and departed this life on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. She was born on August 23, 1965 to Larry and Cynthia McCraney in Barberton, Ohio.

She attended Akron Public Schools where she graduated from Akron Buchtel High School and attended Mansfield Business College. She was last employed as a Clerk with The United States Post Office where she retired after 23 years of service and she was also  was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a Foster Parent for 15 years caring for over 60 children who needed a safe and loving home.

Tonya was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Cynthia McCraney; and Brother-in-Law, Charlie Brown of Detroit, MI. She leaves many to cherish her beloved memory; Her loving lifetime companion, Robert Dowdell; son, Sedan Portis; daughter, Shatorra Portis; grandchildren, Lucas Malone and Sedan Portis Jr (SJ); brother, Larry McCraney of Akron; Sisters, Paula McCraney Brown of Detroit MI, Erica McCraney & Laquita "Pepper" Rushin, both of Akron; Special nieces & nephews, Treasure (Matt) Jones, C'Mondi "Jaylin" McCraney, Jade and Jacob Brown all of Detroit MI and a host of other beloved family and close friends.
