Tonia Devette Davis Ford was born on September 25, 1968 to Marcia Davis Merchant and Preston David Sims. She went home peacefully to be with the Lord on April 25, 2013 after a Courageous battle with cancer at Hospice Care Center. Tonia was a very loving person she gave her all to whoever she came in contact with she loved to shop, travel and help others. She loved her children with all her heart. Tonia attended Akron Public Schools and worked as a Home Health Aide until her illness prevented her from doing so. She was a member of Church of God MPGT. She was preceded in death by her stepfather James Merchant, her grandparents Henry and Jo Ann Davis, step-grandfather Ronald Sharpe, In Laws Doris Jackson and Limar Ford Sr., Aunt Monica Davis, nephew Ja Cobey Sims and her special daughter A'Kiesha Murrell and brother-in law Rodney Haynes. She is survived by her husband Khalid Ford; Mother Marcia Merchant; Father Preston Sims(Mona); sons, Preston (LaLa), JoShawn, Shyhiem, Efrem, James, Micheal, Kevin, Kyle, Ernest all of Akron, Ohio and Marquise of California. daughters Patience  and Khatonia  grandmother Geraldine Sharpe of Akron.,grandsons Preston and Jospeh of Akron,  god son Tenell,  sister Melanie Brown,  Sonia(Sheldon), LaRhondia Davis, Prestina , Precious Sims, and Mercedes White, Janice Kirk and one brother Preston Sims of Akron. sister- in- law Alicia Jackson Haynes, Tracey Moore of Akron. brothers- in law Scottie, Danny and Johnie Jr. (Ann) Moore all of Akron Ohio. Aunts Jacquline Ray and Vonda Richardson, Ocie Sims, Vickie Rodgers, Teresa, Martha Ann , Debbie(Mick), Linda and Niecey Garrett., uncles Allen Rodgers of California, Anthony (LaQuita), Johnny, Tony and John (April) Garrett all of Akron, Ohio.a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
