Thomas Garfield
Mccorvey
March 20, 1951 – January 4, 2025
Thomas Garfield McCorvey passed away on January 4, 2025, after short illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio on March 10, 1951, and attended Akron Public Schools, graduating from Hower High School.
Thomas went on to graduate from Lane College in Jackson Tennessee. He attended Lane College on a full basketball scholarship where he also joined the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. After graduating From Lane College, he returned to Akron for a couple of years and worked for The Model Cities Program and The Juvenile Detention Center. Thomas married Carilyn Hudson from Cleveland Ohio. Shortly thereafter Carolyn and Thomas moved to Houston Texas for a couple of years before moving to Dallas TX.
Thomas worked for Primrose Oil Company for more than 25 years winning several sales contests where he won diamond watches a diamond ring, a trip to Las Vegas among other prizes.
Thomas was also an avid basketball player for many years and won many trophies from junior high to college. Even after becoming a senior citizen, he didn't stop "hooping."
He was preceded in death by his parents Flora Mae (Hazly) and McCorvey and Benjamin Garfield McCorvey, sisters, Rosetta Denise (NuNu) McCorvey and Irene McBride affectionately known as Ma Dear.
Thomas "Tommy" will be greatly missed and left to celebrate his life his loving sister, Marva L. McCorvey of Akron, Ohio, ex-wife Carolyn McCorvey of Dallas Texas and longtime companion Charlotte Bowens of Dallas Texas.
