Thomas Burton was called from labor to reward on Wednesday, August 5, 2015.
Thomas was born January 17, 1947 to the late Robert Clinton Burton Sr. and Beatrice Burton in Ohio. Thomas received his education through the Greene County School System in Forkland, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a devoted and faithful member of the Deliverance Christian Ministries.
Love, faith, strength, passion, commitment and devoted were all words that describe Thomas Burton. He loved his children and grandchildren unconditional they were the center of his world. He had a passion and love for sports (tennis, basketball and Chess) that he shared with his children, family, friends and the community. He was committed to sharing his love for Christ with all he encountered. He was devoted to his family, caring for his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He made sure their needs were met and encouraged them to follow their dreams. Each held a special place in his heart.
His favorite response to life's questions was "fantastic". He saw life as fantastic regardless of the situation or circumstance. He enjoyed life, taking each day as it came. Thomas was a free thinker not bound by traditional ideas and philosophy. He lived life to the
fullest, doing it his way. He lived in the moment, never worrying about tomorrow.
He was preceded in death by a loving and devoted wife Holly Marie (Hubbard) Burton, their son Terrell Maurice Burton; one sister Rosie Mae Burton; three brothers Robert, Major and Danny Ray Burton, his grandparents Estella and Lawrence Hines, and Adam and Sadie Ward.
