Theodis
Mabry
February 25, 1940 – October 21, 2024
Theodis Mabry, also known as Uncle, Fed, Fred, Ted, and Paw, was born on February 25th,1940 from the union of Johnie Sr. and Gussie Mabry in Montgomery, Alabama. He was raised in Waugh, Alabama with his stepmother whom he adored, 13 siblings and 5 stepsiblings. After graduating from Georgia Washington High School, he relocated to Kent, Ohio in 1964 with some of his siblings. While there, he was introduced to his wife and soulmate, Geneva Patricia Mabry, by Grandma Nellie Boykin. They were soon married on December 16,1966 and were blessed with their two beautiful children. Theodis loved his wife with all his heart, being her primary caregiver throughout her later years. He also worked at General Motors as a foreman for 30+ years retiring in 1996; he was also a member of UAW #1112.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, walks around the neighborhood, and being a true outdoorsman. If you couldn't find him in his garage, you could always find him at the end of Hartford with his best friends Robert (Bob) Barker and Carl (Cowboy) Love, "hanging out" with the Garage Crew, where they made their famous "Bob & Fred Garage Wine". They also enjoyed taking hunting trips down south and hanging out at Circle K drinking their morning coffee. Theodis was an active member of New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years.
