Terry James Iverson, affectionately known as TI, was born to the late Moses Iverson, Sr. and Joyce Walker on August 30, 1965, in Barberton, OH. Terry resided in Akron, OH where he graduated from Buchtel High School. He was an exceptional baseball player, receiving All-City, All-County and All-State Honors. He was also a member of one of Akron’s pioneering rap groups, the legendary Party Rappers. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy. Terry also resided in Lansing, MI and his second home Kansas City, MO. Terry was a devoted member of The Livingstone Baptist Church in Barberton, OH. He had a strong relationship with God and he rededicated his life to Christ and was aspiring to become a deacon.

To know Terry, was to love him. He was kind to everyone and was always one to try to avoid conflict. He enjoyed simple pleasures in life. He loved his family, first and foremost, and a homed-cooked meal came as a close second. He also loved sports and music, often boasting that he was the original TI. After courageously enduring the burden of losing his son and fighting his illnesses, he can finally rest in peace.

Terry was preceded in death by his son Terry James Iverson, II; mother Joyce Walker; father Moses Iverson, Jr.; sister Katie Mae Iverson; father-in-law Simon Graise; sister-in-law Betty Adams; and dear friend Dewitt Herring, II.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife Simone Iverson; mother Delores Iverson; mother-in-law Geraldine Graise; son Kirk Delaney and daughters Cherelle and Lakisha Delaney, all of Kansas City, MO; son Marcus Powell; daughter-in-love Uniqua Sykes. Brothers Quincy (Rayna) Iverson and Moses Iverson, III; sisters Tonya Kirkland and Marnita (Terry) Ewing all of Cincinnati, OH; brothers-in-law John Adams, Charles and Elijah Graise; sisters-in-law Linda Johnson and Phadrea (Dwayne) Hickman. Grandchildren: Ta’Vione Iverson; Tailynn Chapman; Terry James Iverson, III; Ryan File, Jr.; Willis; Tatiana; Keenan; and Kirk, Jr. Nephews Terrell Kirkland of Cincinnati, OH and Quincy (Iesha) Iverson of Columbus, OH. Nieces: Cherelle and Racquelle Iverson; Danita and Darinda Reddick of Cincinnati, OH; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. Special friends: Joy Gray; Brian McCallister; Ancy Jones; Tyral Jackson; Gene Holmes, godbrother Larry “Dooley” Williams; and a host of family and friends.
