Teresa Mae Rouse was born on June 30, 1943 in Hopkins County, Kentucky to Roy and Hattie Ray, Sr.. She was a  graduate of Earlington Kentucky High School.

On December 29, 1962 Teresa married the love of her life Hygene Thomas Rouse and to that union were born Sylvia, Perry, Beverly, Regina and Gene Rouse.

Teresa was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed going to the casino, use to enjoy bowling and as an exceptional cook.

Teresa Mae Rouse was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Hattie Ray, Sr.; daughter, Regina; son, Perry; siblings, Frances E. (Chester) Shirley, Margaret (Nathaniel) Purdie, Sr., William (Annette) McElwain, James (Jack) Holt, and Roy Ray, Jr.; great nephew, Troy Purdie; and best friend, Carolyn Jones.

She is survived by daughters, Sylvia Rouse and Beverly Wilkerson; son, Gene (Dawn) Rouse l; grandchildren, Darwain Rouse, Shaunte Rouse, Brandon Jackson, Sr., Negail Rouse, Sr., Antonio Thomas, Gene T. Rouse, lll, Paris (Jillian) Rouse, Tyrell Cook and Octavia Rouse; great grandchildren, Meldreana Jefferson, Darwain rouse, Jr., Raymal and Keion Thomas, Adonnis Thomas, Easton Thomas, Negail Rouse, Jr., Geion and Keillein Rouse, Bria Jackson, De'Marrio Banks, Brandon O'Neal Jackson Jr., Tylee Cook and Karter Cook; adopted son, Derrick Jackson; former daughter in law, Carlisa Alli; best friend, Ruby Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
