Taj Nathanial Prestwood, age 31, of Canton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2026. Taj was born on December 13, 1994, in Canton, Ohio. In 2011, Taj relocated with his family to Covington, Georgia, where he continued his education and graduated from Eastside High School in 2013. In 2018, he returned to Canton, Ohio, where he began working for UPS and later FedEx. Determined to build a strong and successful future, Taj recently earned his CDL. Taj is survived by his loving parents, Erika L. Blackledge and Glen E. Prestwood; his siblings, Nicaela M. Prestwood, Corey Hazlett, Gage Prestwood, Kiara Prestwood, Keanua Prestwood, Kaia Prestwood, Kyle Prestwood, and Joycelyn Blackledge; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of Canton, Ohio. Taj took great pride in caring for his beloved fur baby, Blaze, who was by his side for five years. He truly enjoyed life and cherished spending time with his family and friends, whom he loved unconditionally. His hobbies included weight lifting, riding motorcycles, gaming—especially Fortnite with his gaming buddies—and showing pride in his fire-engine-red, souped-up Subaru sports car. Above all else, Taj was the best son a mother could ever ask for, and the most loving brother, uncle, and friend anyone could hope to have. His presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
