Steven (Steve) Brooks, went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2017 at Windsong Care Center. He worked at Firestone after returning home from the army. He was born on May 24, 1949 in Springfield Township. The family moved to Akron where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was loved by many, known to many as "Dog" and "Sugar D" and will be deeply treasured in the memories of everyone who knew him, especially the many he mentored. His is preceded in death by his mother, Mary J. Brooks-Wright; stepfather, Willie H. "Hooks" Wright; father, Johnny A. "Buster" Roseman; stepmother, Marian "Sug" Roseman; brother, Ronald L. "Red/Putin" Elmore; and special cousin, Johnny Hat Davis. He is survived by his son, Dontae Carter; brothers, Ramont "Hooks" Wright and Ramone Wright; sisters, Deborah Gisentaner, Frances Roseman, Mary C. Dozier, Jackie McMillan-Smith, and special sister, Sheila Holmes; and a host of special nieces, nephews, family & friends.
