Stanley
Wadley
June 25, 1948 – August 9, 2022
Stanley Wadley was born on June 25, 1948, to the late Elijah Wadley and Ida (Brown) Wadley in Chicago, Illinois. Stanley was brought to Akron with his parents in 1951.
He was raised in North Akron with his four younger siblings, where he met most of his friends while attending Jennings Junior High and North High Schools. If you ever spoke with him, he would tell you of his favorite childhood memories like getting a new bike every Christmas and how he enjoyed roller skating with his buddies at the old rink on Howard Street near downtown. He loved Jazz and R&B music, especially Marvin Gaye. His proudest moment later in life was the birth of his two grandsons.
When Stanley became of age he began to travel, seeking out a life path for himself. He lived in New York City, and Chicago Illinois where he worked as a cab driver, learning the cities. He settled Los Angeles California, arriving when he was about 22 years old where he lived there until around 1986, when he moved to Las Vegas. He worked as an electrician, then as an HVAC Tech in Las Vegas going on to own his own business. Stanley met Dalphine Burt in Las Vegas and of this union his only daughter Shayla born. She was a bright light in his life and he took her everywhere he went.
Stanley passed away at Spring Gate Rehabilitation and Health Center on August 9 th in Memphis Tennessee.
He leaves to mourn his daughter Shayla Renee Burt of Las Vegas Nevada, two grandsons Deshawn and Christian Evans, both of Las Vegas NV, sister Shirley (Wadley) Baker of Akron, OH, brothers Sparkey (Diane) of Cordova, TN, Curley and Melvin, both of Akron, OH, two nieces and two nephews. He is also especially remembered by his favorite cousins, Clarence Wadley Jr, Iola Davis, and Charles Gamble, all of Memphis TN.
