Sr. Pastor Harvey L. Mehaffie, age 77, went to be with our Heavenly Father peacefully on Thursday,  July 7, 2015, in his residence. He was born Jan. 17, 1938, to his late parents, Edward L. and Gwendolyn M. (Bartholomew) Mehaffie. He graduated from Middlebranch High School in 1956 and from Rhema Bible College in 1982, when he was ordained. He was a loving and caring man of God, blessing many people with his love and the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ for them. Many souls were won, touched and healed through his ministry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Beverly R. Brandt and Caryl A. Wendell; son, Patrick Slingluff; daughter, Tina Marie; and stepson, David A. Schaub Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan H. (Thomas); children, Bandi Slingluff, Canton, Patti (Tim) Paully, Canton, Michael (Dianna) Slingluff, Massillon, Dana (Russell) Tupeck, Lawton, Oklahoma, Eric Mehaffie, Williamsport, Maryland, Nicole (Bill) Mellott, Falling Waters, West Virginia; stepdaughter, Tina A. (Steve) Wells; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Alliance Believers Church will hold a fellowship at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015, immediately followed by a service celebrating his life at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bill Lancaster officiating.
