Shirley A.
Overstreet-Johnson
January 10, 1964 – March 27, 2023
Shirley A. Johnson was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 10, 1964, to Roosevelt and Gertrude Overstreet. Eventually, the family relocated to west Akron, where Shirley attended both Saint Hilary Parochial and attended and graduated from Buchtel High School. Shirley later attended medical school for nursing but found pleasure in customer service for over 30 years at Speedway in Tallmadge, Ohio until her change in health caused her to depart from her dear customers. Along with many other talents Shirley danced everywhere she went and was nicknamed the Dancing Queen/Dancing Machine, along with her dancing partners, Nyere and Madison. She also loved to skate on hardwood and ice as well. She was the life of the party everywhere she went. She loved to show up and show out and always dressed to the 9's. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and her "muffin".
Shirley was preceded in death by her grandmother, Magdaline Jackson; grandparents, Silas and Susie Overstreet; special uncle, Willie Hall, Jr. and her beloved pet, Pooh.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, children, Leatrice, Autumn and Jameal; siblings, Darlene, Renea, Susie, Roosevelt (Boobie) and Aaron; grandchildren, Richae, Rizhaya, Richasia, Brandon, Zalynne, Apollo, Braylon, Adonis and Aunyx; her only great grandchild, Ja'ior; God mother, Mrs. Bolar and her best friend/sister, Jennifer Bolar; special thanks to the Acevedo family for the support during her illness; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
