With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Barkley, who peacefully departed this life on August 16, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on August 13, 1944, in Montezuma, Georgia, Shirley lived a life defined by love, kindness, faith, and selflessness.
Shirley was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, sharing her love of Jehovah God, and teaching others the truths of the Bible. Her passion for cooking and catering events brought joy to countless gatherings, and her generosity and warm spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was truly a pillar of strength, always willing to extend a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or a listening ear.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service. Shirley is survived by her daughters Diana (Doug) Melton and Darlene Clemons, along with 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughters Elizabeth Barkley and Yvonne Fedrick; great-grandson Daylen Pickett; brothers Willie B. Rogers, Nathaniel Rodgers, Larry Rogers, Michael Rogers, William Rogers, Hillie Evans, and Tommy Rogers; sisters Hattie Harper, Evelyn Rogers Banks, Ernestine Rogers Ray, and Peggy Leonard; nieces Lena Johnson and Mary Louise Robinson; nephews Sam Smith and J.C. Smith
