Shirlene Williams
Paoletto "Bubbles"
September 13, 1954 – February 8, 2023
Shirlene Williams Paoletto received her heavenly wings Wednesday February 8, 2023, at her home with her family at her side.
Shirlene was affectionately known as "Bubbles" by family and friends. Shirlene was born September 13, 1954, to the late Edgar and Lettie Fay Henry Williams.
Shirlene was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School, class of 1973 where she was a cheerleader and a very proud Bulldog. Shirlene also earned an associate degree from the University of Akron, majoring in Criminal Justice.
Shirlene had numerous jobs before she became a Corrections Officer with the Stark County Sherriff's Department. Shirlene made it a career serving for 30 years, retiring as a Sargent. Shirlene was respected by her co-workers and the inmates. Shirlene was known to be firm, but fair, and consistent when dealing with staff and inmates. Shirlene enjoyed working at the jail and was known for keeping the rivalry going between the Canton McKinley Bulldogs and the Massillon Tigers, win or lose.
Shirlene accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Calvary 2nd Missionary Baptist Church. Shirlene also volunteered with her sister Elizabeth at the Total Living Center and Woodlawn Church, when her health permitted.
In addition to her parents the late Edgar, and Lettie Fay Henry Williams Shirlene was preceded in death by her infant sister Karen, sister Abrigail "Toni", her nephew William D. Wallace "Stuffy", and her brother-in-law Daniel C. Summers.
Shirlene leaves to cherish her memory with her sisters whom she loved very, very much. Diane Williams Faniel of Altadena, California, Idella Williams, Johnetta (Raymond) Williams, and Elizabeth Williams Summers all of Canton, Ohio. Aunt, Hattie Tramell. Nieces: Dr. Monique B. Williams, Danielle Summers, and Adonnica Summers. Nephews: Radames Williams, Corey Faniel, Jerome Jones, Rashad Summers, William Summers, and Dontaryl (Rachelle)Summers. Great nephews: Joshua Stewart-Faniel, Naz-yiere, Jordan, Alex, Dontaryl, and Kaydan Summers. Great nieces: Mailani, Jamailyn, and Lola Faniel, Bianca Alonzo, Jaiah Jones, Selena, and Malia Summers.
Shirlene also leaves to cherish her memory her ex-husband William "Billy" Paoletto, and his brothers, Joseph, Andrew, Anthony, and August Paoletto whom she remained close with. Shirlene also leaves her four-legged son CoCo, who stole her heart at first sight.
Shirlene wasn't a stranger to anyone that she met. Shirlene greeted you with her radiant smile, a kiss, or a hug. Shirlene fought a good fight; she finished her course, she kept her faith, through it all.
The family would like to thank Dr Peter Rose and his team at Cleveland Clinic, main campus. The Cleveland Clinic Mercy, 8th Floor Nurses, and Mercy Hospice Team for being so caring and compassionate in the treatment of Shirlene, and her family. A special thank you to Dawn for being Shirlene's care giver. You were/are a blessing to us.
