Scott Stuart
Whitehurst
June 18, 1972 – February 7, 2025
Scott Stuart Whitehurst was born on June 18, 1972 to the late Robert and Rebecca Whitehurst. He lived his entire life in Canton, Ohio and attended Eastgate School and completed his education at Southgate School. Upon graduation, Scottie began attending the Higgins Workshop. In 2016 Scottie transferred to the TWI Workshop in Massillon, Ohio. Scottie was a social butterfly and loved music and attending school functions such as the Eastgate Prom where his Dad dressed him in a tux that resembled that of those of the old Penguin Club - white jacket and black pants. He was cleaner than the Board of Health! Affectionately known at the Workshop as "Scottie Too Hottie", he also participated in the Walking Club and enjoyed spending time with his friends and the TWI staff. Scottie loved to go for car rides, watch Westerns on TV and was a huge fan of WWE Wrestling. In his younger days he would often try wrestling moves on whomever would let him. He also loved to start his mornings by looking out the window at God's beauty of nature. And anyone who knew Scottie knew he loved to eat! He especially looked forward to dinner and anything his sister Kim would cook. Spending time with family was important to Scottie. Before his Dad passed wherever you would see Mr. Whitehurst you would also see Scottie, no matter if it was at Peoples Baptist Church where they were both members or at the Hiram Abiff Lodge No. 72. He also enjoyed time with his sister and although he was non-verbal, Scottie had a way of communicating with those he loved with his smile that would light up the room. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and staff of Family Life Services. Scottie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rebecca Whitehurst. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Kim (Tomier) Davenport and Renee Biggums of Canton, OH and Robin Whitehurst of Columbus, OH, and a host of relatives and friends including the Tate Family and his Family Life team - Angelina and Andre Moody, Jeff Burton, Kelvin Jones, Dave Smith, Braizhon Marshall, Jamahl Izeman and Marlin Sanches.
