Samuel L. Robinson, affectionately known as "Tootie or Lightfinger" was born on May 26, 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama. He departed this life after an extended illness on January 10, 2021.
Lightfinger lived an exciting, adventurist, fun, and joy filled life. He was a smooth, cool cat, that talked a little of jive. He was always dressed to the nines, never owning a pair of sneakers. He loved to shoot pool, shoot dice, and play cards, poker was his game.
Having graduated from McKinley High School where he was a wrestler, he attended college for a few years. Lightfinger worked at Hercules Engines and Winters Foundry until his health began to fail.
Preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie M. Robinson; parents (his aunt and uncle), Homer and Bertha Ola Ash; uncles and aunts, Clarence (Catherine) Ash, David (Bessie) Ash; his first born son, Samuel Lee Peterson.
Samuel leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Carlos Peterson and David Barrino; (9) grandchildren, (16) great grandchildren; special cousins, Henry (Mary) Ash, Emmitt (Denise) Mathis and Chris Smith; his hanging partners, Aron "Penitentiary" Brunner, Delbert "Dat" Brunner, Grady Jeter, Charlie "Buck-Eighty" and Beano Fentress, and a host of other relatives and friends.
