Samuel T. McClain, age 60, departed this life Friday, April 7, 2017 after a courageous battle with an extended illness. Samuel was born June 25th, 1956 to Wilma Foster. He was preceded in death by his Great Aunt and Uncle Will H. and Johnnie B. McClain who helped to raise him, a brother James Foster, Jr., a sister Ruby Stafford, and his stepfather James Foster, Sr. Samuel married Paula Smith on March 21st, 1981 and together they raised two children. Samuel accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior early in life, and he was a lifelong member of Friendship Baptist Church of Massillon, Ohio. In recent years, he enjoyed helping out in the kitchen in support of various church functions. Samuel leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Paula McClain, a daughter Shequita McClain, a son Samuel McClain II of Massillon, Ohio; his mother Wilma Foster and a brother Rodney (Donna) Foster of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister Willie Mae (Fred) Carpenter; 3 grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Samuel will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of life, and of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
