Ruth Anna (Lucas) Hood  was born in Barnesville to the late Anna Drake and John Lucas Sr. She is the parent of Debrah (Debbie) Hood, Patricia Hood, Linda Andrews, Pamela Hood-Tritt, Brian Hood, Robert Hood Jr. Ruth was an active church member of the Antioch Baptist church before she relocated to San Antonio Texas to join her brother John Lucas Jr. During her time in San Antonio Texas, she was active in her community and was recognized as an outstanding senior volunteer for the San Antonio Department of Community Initiatives Comprehensive Nutrition Program. She enjoyed her last days spending time with her family and watching Walker Texas Ranger, Perry Mason and Westerns. Ruth took pride in her growing family; she has a total of 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Ruth was a mother, grandmother, and friend. Her fierce attitude and laughter was just enough to light the room.
