Rosetta Smith "Zett"'s Obituary

Rosetta "Zett" Smith was born in Sandersville, Georgia to parents Lula and Lindsey Williams. Zett was educated in the Washington County School System and graduated from T.J. Elder High School in 1947. While in Sandersville, she had her first-born son Sammy L. Thomas. After, time spent in Sandersville, she moved to Ohio to join her family. While in Canton, Ohio she met her loving husband Robert "R.C." Smith. Together they had 3 children - Hayward, Gary, and Cheryl (Jeter). While in Canton she also established a long membership at Antioch Baptist and then joined Brother Smitty at Pentecostal Temple where she served in various roles such as kitchen help and being a President of the Usher board. She was employed at the Hoover Vacuum Company until her retirement in 1990. She enjoyed her time there and made many friends. She met one of her life long best friends there - Lucille Jackson. Rosetta loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an amazing cook and loved to feed people and share her recipes. She was a dedicated baby-sitter and best friend to her grandchildren. She loved to travel! She would spend time each summer in Georgia visiting her loving sister Agnes (Costa) Roberts and her son Sammy. She was preceded in death by both her parents - Lindsey & Lula Williams. Her sisters Glorine Flournoy, Agnes (Costa) Roberts, Mary Lou (Charlie) Bruins and Leeanna (Herbert) Bryant. Her brother - C.H. Williams & George L. (Edith) Williams. Her son - Sammy L. Thomas (Mary Julia). She is survived by her husband - R.C. Smith. Her Children - Hayward, Gary & Cheryl. Her grandchildren - Marcus Brown (Kim), Sammy Thomas II (Belinda), Jordan Jeter, Philip Horton, Jason Horton, Ruby Smith, Shakeilah Burns (Gregory), Felicia Walker & Jasmine Jeter. She is also survived by a host of great grandchildren, family members and loved ones.
