Mrs. Rosetta Nicholson, age 87, of Alliance, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon of November 25th, 2016 at Akron General Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1929 in Canton, OH to the late Harry Sr. and Eva (Langley) Blackshear and was the oldest of six children. At an early age, her family moved to Alliance where she later married Mr. Richard "Nick" Nicholson Jr., who served in both the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corp. Mrs. Nicholson loved the Lord and was known to many as the epitome of class, elegance, and wisdom all woven together with love. She was a pianist and lived as a good wife, mother, and homemaker. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and volunteering. Second Baptist was her church home where she directed and played piano for the youth, senior, and male choirs. Rosetta has one living sister, Thelma Jo Blackshear and was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four brothers. She is survived by all her three children: Rosilyn Vereen of East Orange, NJ, Ray Nicholson of Massillon, OH, and Sylvia Williams of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
