Roosevelt McDonald, Jr. was born September 25, 1958, to the late Roosevelt McDonald, Sr, and Isabell (Dukes) McDonald. He departed this life peacefully on October 2, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by his family.

Roosevelt attended Canton City Schools and graduated from McKinley High School. He worked for the Timken Company for several years before enlisting in the Marine Corp for a short time. After his short military stent, he returned to the Timken Company.

Roosevelt absolutely loved to fish, which is what he found most in common with his father. He spent most of his time reaping havoc in one place or another. Later in life, he took on the role of care provider assisting both his parents with the cares of daily living. He spent countless hours running errands, mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, and being a pain in their…. side. He could always be counted on by the rest of his family when they needed him. Oh, but to let him tell it “You could never out smart him. He was the most intelligent one of us all”. He always had a joke for you and loved a good game of checkers or chess.

Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memory: sisters Bernice White of Massillon, Ohio, Linda McDonald of Canton, Ohio and Rose (Roscoe) Butler of Waldorf, Maryland, and Aunt, Mary Jean Hood of Canton, Ohio, and nephews, relatives and friends.

Roosevelt was predeceased by his parents; grandparents Joseph Jones Jr. and Cassie Jones; grandparents Sylvester and Lillie Ruth Dukes, and sister Denise McDonald Wilson.
