Ronald M. Betts' Obituary

Ronald M. Betts Sr. age 62 was born July 26, 1963, in Canton, Ohio to the late Robert and Jonnie Betts. He departed this earthly life on Sunday March 8, 2026, at Summa Health System Hospital, Barberton, Ohio. He had been a resident of Detroit, Michigan for 14 years and relocated to Canton, Ohio. He attended Oak Park High School of Detroit, Michigan but was a graduate of McKinley Senior High School in 1981.  Ronald joined the     United States Army in 1985 and moved back to Detroit, Michigan in 1988. He worked at the Aetna Manufacturing Plant while in Detroit and then relocated back to Canton, Ohio in 1997. Ronald married Ellen McCall on July 3, 2003. Ronald graduated from Stark State College in Canton, Ohio receiving his Petroleum Rigging Associates Degree in 2018. This was a great accomplishment in his career as he received many honors during his educational journey.

Ronald lived a full and adventurous life. He received Christ at Deliverance Christian Church. Ronald was very intelligent, creative and crafty with his hands. He enjoyed fishing, jazz music, and loved to D.J. His favorite jazz artist was Micheal Franks, and he loved the album Dragonfly Summer. He loved watching sports, especially football and baseball. He had a heart and compassion for people and family. He was known for giving advice and was always available to offer a word of encouragement to lift others. Ronald enjoyed family gatherings and was always known for speaking to the family about the importance of coming together.

In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his son Ronell Marquice Betts; grandparents, John Willie Hubbard Sr. and Nora Lee Hubbard; brothers, Alonzo Betts and Sam Betts; three uncles, Henry Hubbard, Larry D. Hubbard, and James E. Hubbard Sr.; two aunts, Holly Marie Hubbard and Ollie B. Hubbard.

Ronald leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Ellen McCall- Betts, beloved son Ronald M. Betts-Waker, his daughters Natu'Ral LeAnn Betts,Whitney Pauline (Montrius) Betts-Blocker, Sascha Elise Betts and Tiffany Rochelle Betts. He also leaves three grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Joe Betts, Robin Betts, Melinda Betts; two uncles, John Willie Hubbard Sr. and David Eugene Hubbard; four aunts, Janice A. Hubbard, Michelle Hubbard-Hill, Willadean Kidd and Lillian Betts, his extended Betts family members, as well as a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
