On Wednesday morning, July 29, 2020 Mr. Roland Harris, Jr. transitioned into Heaven. Mr. Harris was born on February 4, 1927 in Camden, South Carolina to Estelle Evans and Roland Harris, Sr. He was employed at Youngstown Sheet and Tube in Campbell, Ohio for 41 years. He was united in marriage to the former Lucille Little in 1952 and they were married for 46 years. Prior to her death in 2008, he was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 6488. He also was a member of Elizabeth Missionary Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; daughter, Shirley McCall; brother, John Harris; step-brother, Patrick Bell; niece, Tanisha Harris; and great-grandson, John'te Gray. He leaves to forever cherish his memory, three grandchildren, Tina (Leslie) Carter, John (Aplonda) McCall and Sonya McCall both of Columbus; three great-grandchildren, Tanisha Carter, Stephanie Carter and Jordan McCall; three sisters, Lois Queener Walker, Gladys (Maurice) Taltoan and Linda Dixon (Edward Bunkley); sister-in-law, Delores Murphy; cousin, Barbara Jefferson, niece, NaKeisha Taltoan who was also his caretaker; companion Angela Young; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church 1210 Himrod Ave. Youngstown, Ohio 44506 at 12:00 P.M. where family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until time of service. Social distancing and mask will be required.
