Younge II
Dec 1, 1960 — Jul 24, 2026
In Loving Memory of Robert Younge II
Robert Younge II peacefully departed this life in his sleep on Friday, July 24, 2026. Born on December 1, 1960, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he spent 65 years defined by compassion for those he loves, persevering through life’s battles, and an unwavering commitment to provide wisdom.
Robert was born to the late Robert Humes Younge and Barbara Patricia Bradley Younge who taught him the value of education and perseverance. Robert spent his early years in Philadelphia before building his career and graduated from Central High School. As a testament to his perseverance, Robert invested in higher education to pursue an advanced career. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance from Wittenberg University before obtaining his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix. Robert dedicated his career to information technology project management. He found purpose in solving problems, leading teams, and helping projects succeed. His work reflected the same care and commitment that he gave to his family and friends.
In 1993, Robert married his former wife Melissa Ann Younge, and together they raised three children: Lauryn Francesca Younge, Sheridyn Elyce Younge, and Robert Humes Younge III. Becoming a father and later a grandfather to Roman Harris Younge was among the greatest joys of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Lyris Francesca Younge; his niece, Kendall Pilar Roseboro; his devoted companion, Diane Mingo; and a host of extended family members and friends.
In later years, he made his home in Canton, Ohio, where he reacquainted with Diane Mingo. He continued to leave a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether through a kind word, thoughtful advice, or a helping hand.
A proud and lifetime member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Robert faithfully exemplified the fraternity’s Cardinal Principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. He pledged Upsilon chapter at Wilberforce University. His commitment to brotherhood, leadership and community remained steadfast throughout his life. Formerly, Robert served as the Basileus of the Theta Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and was a founding member of Kappa Xi Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. On July 24, 2026, Robert entered Omega Chapter, joining the countless Omega men who have gone before him.
