Robert L. Bowman Jr., 61, was born in Akron, Ohio to Robert and Mary Bowman on October 2, 1962. He was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. After a brief illness he passed away peacefully at home on Saturday December 9th, 2023. Robert, as he took his journey through life, was baptized and accepted the Lord at a young age, developing a strong faith in God. He attended Perkins Jr. High School and Butchtel High School. He continued his journey into the workforce at various places of employment. His interest grew most for dry cleaning where he would spend the rest of his employment life in the dry-cleaning business.

Robert was affectionally known as June and Uncle June loved his family. He was an excellent cook and he loved music, dancing, fishing, playing cards, bowling, and traveling. He was a sharp dresser and had a passion for fashion. He lived life with zest and finesse. His favorite saying was, "who you wit??". If he could leave us with his final words, He would say, "I'm blessed, yes I fought a good fight, I finished my course, I kept the faith."

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Bowman Sr. and Mary Bowman, grandparents Jack and Geneva Sherman, Aunt Elsie Sherman, and sister Cynthia Bowman.

He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted soulmate and companion; Shelvia Brown, son Leilah Bowman, stepmom Carol Bowman, and aunts; Trella Chambers, Jessie Carson, Sarah Williams, (special aunt) Paula Gregory, sisters; Cassandra Porter, Wanda Bowman Spears, Terri Tell, Nicole Bowman, (sister cousin) Patty Harvey, brothers; Terry Bowman, Alex (Shielah) Bowman, Marvin Warren, special cousins; Roland and Stephanie Finney and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
