Robert H. Benson transitioned from his life after a short illness on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Robert was born on December 14, 1935 to Wilbur and Mary Benson. He was a graduate of Central High School Robert was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 272, the Elks and the VFW. "Bobby" as he was known by everyone lived his life to the fullest and was loved by many.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Wibur and Mary Benson; brothers, Richard E. Benson and Louis Latson. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, loving companion, Yvonne Cowans; daughter, Carolyn Elkins and Cheryl Jenkins; sons, Robert Michael Benson, Dimons H. Cloud and Joseph Cloud; sister, Louise Lindsey; brother, Wilbur Lee (Roberta) Benson Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
