Rivers L. Reid, 72, went home to be with the Lord  after a short illness at Select Specialty Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He was born in Roba, Alabama at Tuskegee Institute Hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Akron, Ohio. He worked at Hazel Street Recycling and retired from ACP. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending countless hours at Odom Boulevard branch library. He was also known in the community for his landscaping services with his brother  Jimmie.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Essie Reid; daughter, Asiya Cook; brothers, Jimmie and Hency Reid; and reuniting with Carroll Miller.

He leaves to cherish his memory, children, Milove and Khadija Cook; step sons, Anthony and Robert Miller; sisters, Julia Collins, Gloria McDaniels and Betty Reid; brother, Henry Reid; special loving friend, Ms. Millie. and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family and friends.
