Riley "Buddy" Phillips, age 70, of Canton, Ohio, passed away on April 26, 2024 at Belden Village Nursing and Rehab. Born in Canton, Ohio to the late Jack and Annie Phillips; he is also preceded in death by 3 brothers, James Jr., Henry and Gregory Phillips; and 1 grandson, La'Riyah Bennett. Buddy was a 1972 graduate of McKinley Senior High School. During his younger years, he was an orderly at numerous nursing homes in the city. He was an avid music lover, with his favorite genre being old school R&B. Buddy was a dancing machine and would stop and bust a move anywhere. He also enjoyed telling stories to the young kids in the family. Buddy loved all his children and his family with his whole heart. Buddy leaves to cherish his memory, siblings, Patricia Laury, his twin, Roxanne Oliver, Cynthia Phillips-Qatoum, Terry (Deborah) Miller, Teresa (Herbert) Richey, Robert (Marge) Collier and Russell Autman; his children, Rushon Patterson, Tracie (Harold) Jones, Nicole Bennett; Riley Buddy Bennett, Roxanne Bennette; and Cynthia Bennett; 40 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Buddy's entire medical team; and for all the calls, texts, social media messages, food and cards.
