Riccardo "Jay" Evans went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2021 after a long illness. Jay was born on October 12, 1966 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to parents Michele and Clarence (Pete) Evans.

Jay moved to Akron at an early age. He attended Akron Public Schools graduating from Buchtel High School in 1985. He was a part of the cross country and track team setting a record for the 3200 meter relay that still stands today. He was always the life of the party and known for being funny , loving, and caring. Jay left an impression on everyone he crossed paths with. Jay's charming personality drew friends near and far throughout his life. After graduation he joined the Army where he served four years stationed in Hawaii. After being honorably discharged from the Army he worked various jobs as a chef. He was an extremely hard worker, loved to eat, and spending time with his family and friends. The love he had for his family was immeasurable.

Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Michele Scott and brother Duane Evans.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristi Evans of California, Janay, Jade and Tyra Evans of GA; son, Riccardo Evans, Jr of Ohio; father, Clarence "Pete" Evans of Ohio; sisters, Valorie Evans and Vanita Davis both of Michigan and Denise (Terrance) Scott of Ohio; brother, Clarence Evans ll of Michigan; special nieces, Tiffany Evans of Michigan and SiAyera Boone of Ohio; nephews, Louise Jefferson, Jr., Vincent Hull of Michigan and Terrance Boone, Jr. of Ohio; uncles, Benjamin and William Wilkerson of New York, David Francisco, Sr. and Richard Cato oh Ohio; aunts, Dorothy Jetson of New York , Linda (Don) Noel of Indiana, Lena (Robert) Moron and Patricia Cato both of Ohio; cousins, David Francisco, Jr., Jess and Jeremy Baker and Tina Francisco; ride or die till the end, best friend forever, Vickie Dent and the whole Dent Family; friends, William McClane and Doran Cain; girlfriend, Vernel Jenkins.; the Sanders family and other relatives and friends.
