From the moment he entered this world. Rafael "Baby Ray" Locke Ill was a warrior. Born on February 15. 2024, he bravely fought through kidney failure and countless medical challenges with the kind of strength and joy that touched everyone who met him. Though his time on Earth was brief, his impact was immeasurable. Baby Ray was a happy, smiling light in the lives of all who knew him — a true angel who taught us about resilience, hope, and unconditional love.

He passed away peacefully at just 16 months old, leaving behind a legacy of courage and pure joy. He was deeply loved by his devoted mother, Tezjohna Johnson, and his proud father, Rafael Locke Jr. He will be forever remembered by his siblings: Bri Lee, Rayla, and Ja'Liah.

Baby Ray's life was surrounded by a large and loving family. He was cherished by his grandmothers Zjaron Thomas and Crystal Singleton, grandfathers Kenneth Thomas and Rafael Locke Sr., and an amazing village of aunties: Lacindra Mantz, Krystaleene Johnson, Brittany Stephens, October Johnson, LaCrystal Bowers, Miracle Purter, Heaven Purter, Rhion Wesley. His uncles who loved him dearly include Michael Beckett, John Johnson, Kendal Thomas, Jehlorea Johnson, Michael King, Marquis Barnhart, David Shepard, Tyson Singleton, and Kashmair Mingo.

Baby Ray shared a special bond with his cousins: Jamiah, Daquan, Envy, Michael, Miracle, Baby John, Legacy, John Jr, Aiden, Blessing, Bailee, Nyriah, Tyson and Yolanda Gibson - and he was loved by many more.

He was also deeply loved and supported by special family: Jimmelle Moore, Dyshawn Gray, Antonio Guice, Jalissa Massey, Ciara Jonae and by his (God Dad): Dae'vieir Grant God Mom: Jayona Livingston, Jessica Cassell, and Kalyn Skinner.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing Baby Ray has been welcomed into heaven by his grandfather John Lee Johnson Sr, great-grandmother Cindy Mantz, great-grandmother Voncile Bates, Barber Ann Skipper, Geraldine Johnson-Locke, and his beloved uncle Nick Bo Bo.
